About Nata 2014 Examination
NATA – National Aptitude Test in Architecture is the mandatory – qualification exam to be under taken by any architecture aspiring student &and its minimum pass mark of 80 out of 200.This NATA score is considered for B.Arch Admissions in all Private, Govt-Aided & Deemed universities throughout india other than the N.I.T & I.I.T Colleges for which the student’s ranking in I.I.T &J.E.E – B.Arch exam is considered.
To attain the basic pass mark, the student needs some exposure to Architecture specific aptitude , Famous Architecture buildings & Sketching practise. The NATA exam portions are not concentrating in any of the +2 student’s general portions such as Physics, Chemistry, Computer science, Biology e.t.c .Hence it needs a special practice , learning & focus towards the core subject of architecture which can be got under the guidance of any Architect or any Nata coaching institute run by Architects. Whereas the students aspiring High score in Nata exam which is still maintained around 150 out of 200, needs more intensive training before making the first attempt for the exam.
The specific details in respect to NATA exam to be known by every student is that it is a 200 marks paper conducted for 3 hours, Candidates having 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with mathematics as one of the subject only are eligible for admission to B.Arch.Course, the exam contains both online exam & paper based sketching, the exam date is fixed by the student in a specific test centre and hence the exam date for every student might be different, multiple attempts can be given for the NATA exam but the valid marks will be the average of all attemps, there is no negative marking, there is no equal scoring distribution for all the questions as the marks are based on the difficulty of the levels, the NATA application needs to be submitted in the Nata test centre to get the hall ticket, there is no connection between the college in which the Nata exam is taken ( Nata test centre) and the B.Arch admission in the same college.
Also if the NATA coaching is conducted by a college itself for the sake of their admissions , and if they insist the candidate to take the coaching with them and also write the exam in their test centre or take admissions in their college itself , then it an illegal activity as per the NATA council rules and hence it may result in termination of the college approval or omission of the students marks who have taken the exam in that test centreand hence such cases need to be reported to the Nata forum immediately by the candidate.
